Sarah and Raymond are adopting!!!

Hello Family & Friends,

We’re very excited to share some news with you, we’re adopting!!! As you all know we love children and can’t wait to build a family of our own. Families are built in many different ways, just as each family has its own unique story, we’d like to share our story and journey with you!!!

This is being shared with all of you differently than we had planned, we were hoping to have a big party and be able to share all the intimate details then. In this time of uncertainty, we had to get creative, as our plans have changed. We’re still adopting of course, and are waiting to be matched with just the right baby to be. We just won’t be having the party as planned, however, hopefully we will have a big party at a later date, to introduce all of you to our little bundle of joy!

We have many chapters of our love story and one of those is our struggle to conceive. A few years ago we were sent to a fertility clinic, where it was recommended that we try IVF, and proceeded through two rounds, neither of which had a positive result. While it was worth trying medically, we did not want to continue with any further medical options. We knew a child would come to us when the time was right, and that there may be another intended path for us. That path has come through the journey of adoption, and we can’t wait to add the best chapter yet, the day we bring our child home!

We wanted to share this journey with you, as we love you all, and hoped you’d share in our excitement and anticipation through this new chapter we’re embarking on! We don’t know when this new member of our family will join us, however what we do know is that they will definitely be joining our family. We’re trying to prepare the best we can, when there’s an unknown it’s a little tricky; it’s better to put positive vibes out there and begin preparing, than not to be ready the day the phone call comes!

We’ll be updating all of you, as things progress, meaning once we bring our child home. We don’t expect anything more than your love and good thoughts, however some have asked what we needed, and this was what we came up with. We are working with an adoption consultant that is providing us with situations that may very well be out of state, in which case we’d be traveling and staying for a duration of time. In the meantime, we’ve created a baby registry and an adoption fund for travel (Venmo or PayPal), and adoption leave in lieu of maternity leave (unfortunately we do not get a typical maternity leave). We’re so very excited to share this journey with all of you, and can’t wait to introduce you to our new arrival!!!

With love,
Sarah & Raymond
